FAQs
What are OPS & FOPS?
FOPS = Falling Object Protective Structure, AKA the roof guard.
OPS =Operator Protective Structure. In this case, that is the front ‘grill’/guard.
Side Intrusion - For local machines, we can provide Side Intrusion OPS - aka Marguard where we replace side windows with superior polycarbonate windows.
What is the Certification Standard?
Our OPS&FOPS guards are designed and certified in accordance with OSH Approved Code of Practice for Operator Protective Structures, ISO 8083 FOPS and ISO 8084 OPS, Grade 3.
Yep - if you want to be the top 3 operator on site within the sectors that mandate high-spec guarding (forestry contractors, roading, civil works) here in New Zealand, its the level you need to meet. We’ve got you covered!
I thought I had ROPS from factory?
“But my machine is new, isn’t it already ROPS Certified?” Yes, your machine cab is quite likely ROPS (Roll Over Protection) Certified from factory, and this is a pre requirement to be able to fit OPS&FOPS guards to the cab.
A factory ROPS cab alone does not meet level 3 safety requirements - or protect the operator in certain scenarios if things get gnarly.
Why do I need OPS&FOPS?
With your machine guarded and your operator protected, you not only have an additional layer of safety for your operator, you unlock a level of versatility and the ability to diversify your work in a competitive market.
